Enobs Academy
An online academy that teaches digital skills and how to earn from them. The platform is live; the tutorial videos are still being recorded.
- My role
- Built the backend, landing pages and deployment; producing the course content.
- Stack
- Python, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, asyncpg, Docker, nginx
The idea
Many people in Nigeria want practical digital skills, and the question that follows is how to turn those skills into income. Enobs Academy teaches both: the skills themselves, and how to find clients and charge fairly for them.
Where it stands today
I am being plain about the status. The platform is live and the tutorial videos are still being recorded, so the full course is not published yet. There are no income claims on the site and none here.
What is built
- A FastAPI service with PostgreSQL (through asyncpg) that handles sign-ups and delivery of course material.
- Static landing pages served by nginx, with the API proxied from a separate container.
- Resource limits on the container, so the academy can never starve the other services on the same server.
- A Docker deployment with its own certificate and its own nginx site, kept separate from the main platform.
What I am working on
Recording the tutorial videos, then a learner area with progress tracking. A companion mobile app for poor connections is on my project list.
What I learned
Education is a product problem as much as a content problem. People drop off at the first confusing step, so the sign-up flow gets as much attention as the lessons.
