Suniemate Volt
A fast, accessible React website for a solar and electrical services company in Nigeria, with WhatsApp click-to-contact and local SEO.
- My role
- Designed, built and deployed the website from scratch, end to end.
- Stack
- React 18, Vite 5, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, Framer Motion, Vercel
The client
Suniemate Volt is part of Akeremate Global Concept, in Ado-Ekiti, Nigeria. It offers solar installation, custom battery building, electrical wiring, CCTV cameras, electric fences and inverter installation.
My role
I built this site from scratch and took it all the way to launch: the design, the build, the search and sharing setup, and the deployment.
What I built
- A component-based single-page site in React 18 with Vite 5 and strict TypeScript.
- A custom design system in Tailwind CSS with brand colours as light and dark theme tokens, custom breakpoints and fonts (Manrope for headings, DM Sans for body text).
- A light and dark theme toggle driven by CSS variables, with no flash of the wrong theme on load.
- Motion with restraint: Framer Motion for section reveals, the hero animation, slideshow transitions, the accordion and the menu, all respecting reduced-motion settings.
- An accessible image slideshow (“Our Work”) that shows finished installations.
- Click-to-contact by WhatsApp and phone, with a ready-made message for each service, so a customer can ask about the exact service they want in one tap.
- Local SEO and sharing: page metadata, Open Graph tags, local-business structured data and a favicon.
- Fully responsive layout from 320px phones to 1920px screens, with semantic HTML, visible focus states and alt text.
Deployment
The code lives on GitHub, and every push to the main branch deploys automatically to Vercel. Nothing extra is added: no backend and no unneeded libraries.
Why it matters to me
Small local businesses often have no website, or one that is slow and hard to use on a phone. A fast, clear site is a real advantage for them, and in Nigeria a WhatsApp tap is often how a customer first reaches out. This is work I want to keep doing.
What comes next
A quote-and-booking flow, so a customer can request a quote or a site visit and get a confirmation. It is on my planned list.
